End of week 4 - going well.

My training plan said 1:45 - 2 hours gentle run/walk. I did 1:15

Bit hungry but bored bit needed the loo = time to get home. But seeing as I didn't really want to go I'm absolutely delighted I changed into my PE kit and made it out the door!

Got to keep telling myself that it's only end of week 4. Only 25% done. Loads to play for. Loads of training time to go until Braemore 10k, Gosport half and PCM

Also spent a lot of today athlete tracking Suzanne and the Collins doing CousCous Portugal 70.3 - all three smashed it

PCM training plan - rest day

Lovely rest day.
Early shift at work then met K&S in the new Cuban restaurant. They ate, I drank water and had a few chips.

We then enjoyed seven maybe eight Music in the City acts as we meandered down to the bottom of town.

Evening spent cooking, eating, chilling. Hoping to be asleep by 10:45pm

And, fabulous news. Fat club down to 23 Syns :)

Excellent morning - training and socialising

Today has been excellent.
A tough HB session which I managed to complete without to many stops / back peddling.

Then Sue and I went to the Cove for an hour of tea/coffee, training talk and catch up. Was fabulous.

On my training plan it had 40mins very easy run so when I got home I dropped off my bike and went out for a run. What a beautiful day. Perfect autumnal early afternoon - brilliant blue sky, gorgeous red/orange leaves everywhere. Plus the run felt okay. No running through treacle, just easy breathing, running tall, good arms.

Shower then a great fat club luncheon of salmon with a cucumber/tomatoes and sweet potato in lime juice salad. I was going to have couscous but the packet was "best before April 2013" and you know what it didn't taste that good!!!

Fat club week one - done. -2lbs :)

One week in the bag for fat club.
My syns went from 100.5 to sub 30 for both today and yesterday so slowly sorting out my diet and meal plans.

Jenny asked how much does Lizzie want it when talking about me finally sticking to a training plan. Well I want to be sub six at the PCM in three months time. So approx 11 weeks. 2lbs a week will be my magic lose 20lbs - be 20mins quicker over a marathon. And I want that. Badly.

Week four of training plan gong well. 41 min run after Pilates and Express HIIT at Mayflower gym this afternoon 🙂
While this morning I had a tidy up in the bedroom and did careful folding of all clothes in my chest of draws. I'm wondering if I have a few to many tshirts!!!

I'm feeling so positive at the moment. Excited for the rest of 2018 as I move into 2019 "The year of everything I do will be followed by #itsmy50th 🤗"

Great HB session

I like the alpine sessions as my usual cadence is about 70/80 rpm

I have one speed when training...

Training plan said 30mins running non stop at effort level 6

I did 33.50 mainly running, some walking but not effort 6. Maybe by the end I was getting quicker...

But I'm sticking to it which I'm delighted about. Week 4 and still at it. I'm thinking that having it stuck up on the wall in the kitchen is def helping as I'm seeing it everyday

Week 4 of PCM training plan

Rest day :)
So 40 odd mins of HB before the 12-8pm shift at JSC.

Legs struggled.

Now sat in my arm chair, showered, listening to the radio. Tired.

Also day 4 of fat club
Still figuring out the syns!!
Fri = 100.5
Sat = 54
Sun = 61.5

Looking at what I've eaten though is really useful - meal out on Friday at Zizzi's = 41, meal out at Mexigo Satursay while brake cable got fixed = 25, Lidls bar of milk choc consumed Sunday = 26

Let's see how week 4 goes :)

End of week 3 PCM training plan :)

Omg - the weather when I woke up this morning - biblical!! In fact Pam and I were wondering about going to the gym instead of runnin outside.

Also athlete tracking the gang at Weymouth 70.3. Horrific conditions. Thank god I did it last year!!!
See pic of the sea taken this morning - screenshot from uk tri women fb page. Similar if not worse than challenge Weymouth back in 2014.

So, we decided to run just so we know for further what it's like when chucking it down. Pam collected me so didn't have to cycle.

Weymouth 70.3 - amazing racing going on but also a lot of DNS due to illness, injury and the freezing conditions at the start.

We did 6.5miles 1:25
Very happy.
Followed the training plan, very much on track for PCM.

Then huge roast dinner at The Crown.

This afternoon - Lidls, bit of food prep for next week and then NFL. Week 3 of the season. Packers not doing so great. Luckily rest of nfc north also struggling.

Parkrun 35.25 :)

What a fabulous morning!!
Started sadly - puncture so for a minute thought we wouldn't make it to the common on time. Charlotte steamed it back to her place and grabbed her car - made it with five mins to spare :)

Charlotte is a quicker runner but she's easing back into running so wanted to take it gently so my usual time of 35mins would mean a perfect stretching out of the legs for her.

Love Parkrun. Always so many chums to say hi to.

Great pace but still chatted non stop.
Then Charlotte picked up the pace and we ran to the finish. 35.25. Very happy with that.

Every time I run well I can hear Di Mat's voice saying if you stop talking you will go faster!

Hawthorns then new stop2 cafe at the Hometel along Queens Terrace. What a fabulous Saturday morning.

Brilliant fun.

Week 3, day 5 and day 1 of fat club

Well - it's 1:30pm and I'm at 51 syns - the recommended range is 5-15. So still got a ways to go with menu planning / saying no

But I've just had a good look at my syns - bfast toast and marmite, tortilla wrap and tortilla crisps for lunch, two little cake slices from a colleague and that's 48 syns right there!!!

Out this evening at Zivvi's or Zizzi's so I'm thinking salad bar and pasta? Although I bet I get pizza :(
I do so love pizza.

Parkrun tomorrow and long run with Pam on Sunday. Plus planning to make some meals I can pop in the freezer.

I'm still quietly confident....

Rejoined fat club :)

Bernie always said that once she combined fat club - slimming world, with exercise her weight just fell off. Or was it Sarah who said that??

Anyways, whoever said it was right as Bernie then lost loads of weight and she's pretty much maintained her weight ever since.

So it's now my turn to see if I to can lose shed loads of weight :)

My starting weight - with my trainers on, is 13:8.5
My goal is 11:7
I'd like to lose two stone and get to eleven and a half. That will absolutely help my running and my ultimate goal of a sub 7.5 hour Lakesman Half next June.

I of course came home, tidied up, and then ate until bedtime :(

x3 dairylee triangles
x 1 packet of baked crisps
A frozen shepherds pie from the freezer
x2 slices of toast and marmite
x 1 packet of baked crisps
Half an apple

Basically I just ate.

So quite a lot of work to be done with the weight loss portion of OF&H!!
I bought 12 sessions which'll take me to just before Christmas. It'll be interesting to see how I do. Perfect timing for the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon

Katherine has lost a stone in three weeks
Karyn was hoping to make it to the 7:30pm session this eve.

I've got a lot of changes to make.
Should be brilliant fun :)

Week 3 day 2 - circuits

So very nearly didn't go today!
I'm really trying to ensure I'm focusing on the big C
CONSISTENCY

I can't let Jo down at the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon. Got to train for 5:30 so I can got sub six with stopping at most feed stations and selfies. Currently my marathon pb is 6:41 from London in 2015. Got to go quicker than that :)

LRR training tomorrow and STC running Thursday. Long run Sunday. I can do this x

Cliff's 50th and the Ashtead 10k

What a fabulous weekend!!!
STC hosting the River Itchen Biathlon on Saturaay so me, Suzanne and Jenny headed over to the start of leg 3 - St.Catherine's Hill to Bishopstoke The Hub. Approx 10k. Putting out signs, chatting, walking Yogi then big cooked bfast at the Toby Carvery.

Just got the 13:18 train to London (changed at Basingstone) and met the girls at London Bridge for Cliffie's 50th at the George Inn. We got there bang on 4pm. Brilliant fun. Was heaving by 6:30pm. We left just after 10pm to get various trains home. Cards Against Humanity at the Cranes when I got to Ashtead.

Sunday 11am Mark and I did the Ashtead 10k. Was a beautifully sunny warm autumnal morning, plus because it's been so hot the ground was hard so much easier to run - didn't turn ankle once :)

Peacock girls at the turn point.
1:16.04
Happy with that.
Probably could have gone a bit quicker but needed to be careful with footing.
End of week 2 training for the PCM = so far so good.

Just got to keep running. I will get quicker, stronger. So excited.

Cuppa at Mum's
Beautiful roast beef - thanks Markie.
Then a lift back to Southampton with the  Smiths - Stuey, Tamsyn and M.
And omg - remembered just as we got off the M3 that my bike was at Southampon Central train station!!

An absolutely fabulous weekend.

Week 2 day 5

By the be end of the HB session I remembered I was racing the Ashtead 10k on Subday so kinda slowed right down to lots of stops!! But still sweating loads :)

Plus I've just entered the Portmouth Coastal Marathon - 23/12/18. Cutoff is six hours. Eeeep.

I am though feeling quietly confident at week 2 of 16 of my PCM training plan.

Wednesday, 12 September 2018

Day 3 week 2 - HB session

Me and Dawn with Lindsey today in the Box. Roller coaster session, was fine but had a couple of loo stops :(

Finishing work at 7pm this eve for the "we are triathletes documentary" with tri club. Should be a good night out

Tuesday, 11 September 2018

Week 2 day 2 - managed 20mins

So nearly didn't get out the door. Went home early yesterday as feeling odd - head ache, queasy, not right. Woke this morning still tired but not unwell which was a huge improvement.

Training plan said 30mins hard.
Managed 20mins of easy run/walk. Back was hurting.
Wondering if that was because I didn't do anything Sunday as worked all day so sitting down pretty much for 15hours non stop.

So basically delighted I got out the door this morning :)

Monday, 10 September 2018

Week 2 day 1 :) nearly didn't go to HB

Did the double yesterday at work 6:45am - 10:15pm. Was hugely flagging by the end. Spent most of the day athlete tracking Ben from work and Dean and Angela from STC / HB. All three are now An Ironman. Amazing.

I went for a ten minute walk.

So today I nearly didn't go to HB. Glad I did. Smashed it. Kept going. Also from is now 138. Will up it 5% every two weeks.

Am pleased with my progress. It's a 16 week plan to take me to 13/12. Absolutely no need to panic or hurry. Just keep to the running, at least six HB a month and figure out how to write back into the water. Will rejoin SUTri.

Saturday, 8 September 2018

Day 6 Week 1 - 4.8miles with Pam :)

Fabulously gentle run with Pam this afternoon. Approx 4.8miles so about 7.5km
1:05.42
Round the Sports Centre then Common and home via Ave Campus.

Thursday, 6 September 2018

Day 4 week 1 PCM :)

Omg - soooo hungover. Out partying last night at the Drag Night 'How's Your Head?' at Surburbia (used to be Lennon's)
Way to much vodka.
Had a fab dance and the Drag Queens were great fun. Hoorah for Michael and exciting post Breakout plans :)

This morning though.
Five hours sleep really isn't enough.
But knew I had to get out. All I needed to do was 45mins run/walk.
Did 48.25.
Really pleased!! As tri club buddies Suzanne and Jenny always say... Got a do the C word. Obvs I was rather bemused as to what that could mean at first as its a word I'm not that familiar with!!!
Consistency. The word is consistency.
Week one - so far so good. Only just started but def moving in the right direction.

Now I just want to fall asleep. May need to set my alarm incase I sleep through Portslade, Hove and end up at the end of the line - Brighton!!

Wednesday, 5 September 2018

Week 1, day 3 - HB session :)

On the Portsmouth Coastal Marthon training plan today is a rest day so instead of running I did a Hurtbox session. Ftp is now 138 so 5% up from the 131 which lets face it is to low. Felt okay. Tried coach Peter's tri bars. Need to get a better alum key but think they're going to be fun to use!!

Drag night tonight with Micheal
Should be a hoot :)

Tuesday, 4 September 2018

Week 1 of Portsmouth Coastal Marathon training plan

Day 1 = rest
Day 2 = 30mins run/walk - DONE

And so it begins.
Consistency, accountability. Sub six hours if possible.
