Jet washing at Watersports

I'm currently feeling all fifty of my years. Am utterly shattered from jet washing at Watersports today!

Loved it
Was freezing.

Must write training plan

I have to write up my first months training plan as all I'm doing is eating :)
Left overs from Sunday's party - quite a lot has gone to work!!!

Monday 28 January 2019

Bday long weekend - finished. Utterly pooped!

Omg - utterly shattered.
HB this morning - managed it but struggled. Felt tired and hungover!
But did it.
Lunch cancelled.
Paid in £600 bike money
Bought new sports bra :)
Home - shattered. Falling asleep on the sofa.
Didn't go to the track for ABs Monday eve LRR training. Ate chocolate instead.

Lakesman half training starts when I get back from Derbyshire.
19 weeks till the half.
Eeeep

Thursday 24 January 2019

A fabulous last day of my 40s

As I write this I've got just under half an hour left of my forties.
It's been a great last day!

Lost 3lbs at slimmers world then bingo. We didn't win anything but had a fabulous time

It's also the last few days before I start training in earnest  for the lakesman half. I'm feeling very positive for 2019 :)

Wednesday 23 January 2019

Two days to go :)

Another great day!
Song sheets done.
Work was great.

Indoor cycling this eve at JSC with Ben J.
Was tough.
There's no cheeky back peddle or just stop on those spin bikes :(

Disco lights borrowed. Tea and cake at P&K's

I'm tired but feeling so content x

Tuesday 22 January 2019

Three days to go

The day started with a visit to bike guy and checking out my new to me boardman bike :)
The day finished with me just chilling, watching some tv and having a bowl of cereal.

Monday 21 January 2019

5 days left of my 50s

Another wonderful day.
Wide Lane this week.

LRR runleading
Puccinis with the girls
2019 = brilliant fun

Sunday 20 January 2019

Marshalling CC6, 1800m swim :)

What a fabulous weekend.

Saturday - IV visit, Billy Bash - danced non stop for three hours 😅

Sunday
5 hours sleep, marshalling CC6, tea and toast at Jennys. Lidls shop, lunch, JSC to meet Jenny for swimming

Smashed it!!
1800m mixed set in 50mins.
Arms tired. Would have stopped if Jenny hadn't of been there. Am feeling very positive about my swimming now.

Over to A's for tea and party planning.
Home - keep checking NFC Chpionship game score.

Five days till I'm 50

Saturday 19 January 2019

Billy Bash

Lordship road runners awards night  - awesome fun :)

Nearly forgot!!

Just remembered in time to do my wall press ups, wall sit and calf raises! Phew.

Watersports this morning.
Cleaned rifle range, changing rooms, emptied bins. All good. Again physically tired. Next session will be Thursday 31st Jan :)

Wednesday 16 January 2019

Day 1 of bday celebrations :)

I'm off to London this afternoon to see Fiddler on the Roof with the boys - my bday pressie from them :)
Very excited.
Have decided that my 50th bday celebrations start today.

Great start with HB session - tough but again, only rested in the recovery parts of the session.

First day at Watersports

Physically tired from work - that's a first for years!

Jet washing the boat slipway and steps. Loved it. No idea if I'll be able to keep doing it what with my shifts and the tide times but will certainly give it a go :)

Hoping for an increase in my upper body strength. Fingers crossed x

Monday 14 January 2019

Feeling strong, talking training plans

Chatted with Antman at HB this morning about my plans for the Lakesman half.

Will train for the Southampon half marathon which is the 5/5

Will do HB but also get outside and do some regular 2-4hours cycles

Will do as many Masters Swim sessions at work and 20min drills sessions in the pool during my breaks.

When I smash my goal I'll then sit down with Antman to plan for the Outlaw in 2020 :)

Antman reckons that will get me sub seven and a half x

Sunday 13 January 2019

22 weeks today - lakesman half will be over!

Isn't it great to have a timeline :)

* Ran/walked 3k in 30mins today - Winchester 10k is the 24/2 but I do need to find 5k for 26/2 Parkrun.

* Need to get in the pool - time in the water. So key. Must prioritise some Masters Swim at work.

* Cycling going well - would like to get to 70-100k regular bike rides. But at the very least 2-4 hour bike rides to become a regular thing.

And of course the shedding of some lbs. Can't be hitting my tummy with my knees when on the tri bars!!

Saturday 12 January 2019

50 in under two weeks

Not much today - up 5:15am for work. Went quickly, really enjoyed it. Then wave of tiredness 3:15pm.

Home, snooze, food, HP and the Philosophers Stone, 50 exercises then bed.

I love finishing work at 3pm and having the rest of the day stretching ahead of me - however I'm very good at not actually doing anything :)

Tomorrow I will take my trainers to work and hit the treadmill.

Friday 11 January 2019

Feeling good :)

Dawn's right about me - it pretty much is all metal. Yes I need to have a level of fitness but I also need to not listen to the voice that says it's too hard, I'm tired, just stop now. That voice talks lies :)

Great HB session. 84 or 85%, only stopped / back peddaled during recovery time. Two more weeks at 144 then the Monday after my 50th I'll up it to 149 and see how that goes. I think I'll just keep doing that every three weeks instead of leaping straight into another FTP test just Incase it goes up by a lot!!

Oh and the session was 95 - 115 ish not anything much higher.

Cove for a cuppa and a butty.
Tidying, sorting.
Party stuff.

Did my 50s exercises.
Two weeks today I'm 50.
I've blinked and suddenly I'm turning 50. I'm sure my blog posts over the next few weeks are going to contain quite a bit of naval gazing 😉

Thursday 10 January 2019

Pilates and more running

I have achieved today and it's not even 2pm :)

Sorted out some of the rubbish downstairs.
Cleaned my bike
Took it to cycle republic as flat front tyre.

Pilates 45mins - yikes my tummy really knows it's had a work out!
Then another treadmill run...

2.5k, 24mins - ankle feels okay.

I'm feeling excellent.

Wednesday 9 January 2019

Ftp now 144 and it's fine

Great session this morning in the box. Did right through till the cool down then headed home as working at noon.

Hardly stopped at all.
It really is a mental game. Lindsey - 'they're not recovery they're just little dips' for the 30secs at 80% after every 75sec block at 92-94%. That worked for me. No proper rest for about 14mins.

The more I think of the lakesman it is the cycle I need to get a lot quicker at. 4:23 for 90km is just not quick enough!

Will also need to think about my swimming...
I'm feeling very excited about my upcoming season x

Will clean my bike tomorrow as I could feel it grinding

Tuesday 8 January 2019

Day 8 :)

50 wall press-ups, 50 seconds wall sit, 50 calf raises.

Nearly forgot this eve but then looked at wall chart and thought I cant not do it. It's only been eight days. How on earth will I find the will power from Feb to train every day for the lakesman half if I can't even make it to day 8 of this little challenge.
Needless to say I've done my day 8 exercises!

HB tomorrow.
Will take trainers again to work, hopefully will treadmill run/walk another 15mins

I've got 18 days to find a run/walk Parkrun...

Sunday 6 January 2019

A gentle Sunday

Decided to take today quietly.
No cycling out to badgers farm for the cc6 or going to to st James park for the clothes swop. Instead I had a lie in, watch some tv, had lunch then hair cut, lidls and some gardening - retrieved the window box from the shop belows flat roof.

Not much else really.
Big roast dinner, more sorting out the not quite so big pile of magazines, bit of reading then bed.

Three weeks to my party.
24 weeks to the Lakesman half.
7 weeks to Winchester 10k

Fingers crossed that's it for not feeling very well in 2019.

Saturday 5 January 2019

Sorting out all my run/tri/bike magazines

I've got a huge pile of magazines that I've kept because there are lots of useful articles in them. However they are taking up way to much space... So instead  of either tearing out the articles I want to keep or just chucking them all in the recycling I'm tearing out the pages I don't want to keep.

Pile is going down loads but I've still got plenty of mini magazines with loads of useful info in them. Am feeling very smug. But also bit tired now so will finish the rest tomorrow.

Sorting, clearing, organising. That's going to be my flat mantra for 2019 :)

Friday 4 January 2019

Off work - sick :(

I had so many plans for today :(
But that all went out the door this morning - dodgy tummy - not happy - back to bed. Done nothing today.

Managed to have a bath.
Managed to do my 50 wall press ups / heal raises and 50 secs wall sit.
Didn't actually manage anything else though. Just cancelled a couple of things.

Bedtime.
Hopefully I'll feel a lot better in the morning...

Thursday 3 January 2019

1st run since Gosport half in November!

Just 15mins of walk for 90-120secs, run for 30seconds on one of the treadmills at the Mayflower gym. But I was running. Ankle is fine. Feeling very excited. Will gently increase to 30mins over next couple of weeks.

Will be park running 26/1 for my 50th bday so I'd like to feel comfortable run / walking 5k within the next 3 weeks :)

Wednesday 2 January 2019

Day 2 of 2019 :)

2019 is shaping up to being an awesome year.
I've done my second day of 50 wall press-ups, 50 seconds of wallsit and 50 calf raises.
Then at fat club only put on 3lbs.

Hoorah x

Tuesday 1 January 2019

Looking forward to 2019

I've blinked and it's now 2019!

The year of my half century and the year of seeing if I can go under seven and half hours at the Lakesman middle distance triathlon on the 16/6/19.
