Month 4 day 31

OMG - just 2 months to go...

had dan this eve - was such a lovely evening that left the gym and instead of the treadmill we ran round all the parks and then the bottom of town.

we were out for 45mins - ran all the time, only walking was crossing any roads. did 5km!!!!!!

soooooo chuffed with myself.

Month 4 day 30

alot of cycling today...
7.1miles for work then approx 9miles as i cycled to and from K&S's twice!

= just over 16miles of cycling.

got the gym tomorrow.

also seriously thinking about going back to fat club. running will be alot easier if i'm not lugging round this extra 40lbs i want to get rid off.

Month 4 day 29

blimey - ran for 55mins on the treadmill = 6.3km and burnt off 630 calories. not bad.
then home to roast chicken and all the trimmings (x2 portions in leftovers - x1 boxed up for lunch tomorrow and x1 in the freezer)

now i need to actually get outside and run on the road. eeeek. that's gonna be alot harder...
dan's thinking we may go out this wed and run round the parks. fingers crossed for lovely weather.

abit of walking but nothing OF&H specific.

i'm intending to go to the gym tomorrow with my new mp3 player - decided to just buy one for £19 and see how i go. ultimately i'll get a very fancy ipoddie player & i'm actually covetting the one sarah got for bernie that bernie showed me the other w/e when at theirs for pride. its just lovely.

saturday morning trip to the gym. 5k, 44mins. can still walk. not half dead on the sofa like last wednesday.

well i cycled to the junction pub - 10mins there and 10mins back. but that's it for today. i'm hoping for a more productive w/e...

Month 4 day 25

OMG - could barely walk today. good job i was meeting katherine at the gym at 8.30am.
  • cycled 16minutes = 4miles
  • power walked (tried running - lasted 6 strides) for about 15mins
  • used some of the machines
  • stretches
felt great.
very nice showers.
off to work feeling all fit and fresh.

and... since jan 2011 i've lost 7lbs.

Month 4 day 24

this is my long w/e on the IOW post.
ummmm...
i did abit of walking - and that's pretty much the only OF&H activity during the 4 days...


gym this evening - i'm now in full training mode (about time!!!)

@ The Gym:-
  • 5k on the treadmill in 44minutes.

that's FIVE kilometers in FORTY FOUR MINUTES!

Month 4 day 18

nearly went for a run this morning but it's chucking it down so rather glad i stayed indoors and drank tea. i may go in abit before work or i may go to work early and run this evening...

anyways - taaadaaaa - the route:-

I did go to the gym this evening -
  • 20 mins on the bike - 5miles
  • 35mins of the treadmill - 4kms.
then ate chicken and salad. how healthy am i??

Month 4 day 17 - 74 days till the GSR

wow.
3.5kms
ran for 35mins - and felt as if i could have done more (but had to get to work).

maybe i wont be collapsing in a pool of tears and sweat half way round southsea... maybe i will finish and finish within 2 hours. and yes, i know, on my present form i'll take about 2 hours 50mins but hey - 73 days of training left - LOADS of time (eeeeeep)

Month 4 day 15

soooooooooo tired today...my poor body needs to get used to being a finely tuned athlete (it's not quite there yet)

went to the gym this evening.

  • 10mins cycling
  • 8 mins xtrainer
  • 3mins or so doing stretches then dan arrived.

off to the treadmill - 30minutes.

  • yet again got to 20mins and have to walk for a couple of minutes and then back to a gentle jog.
  • at this rate the GSR is going to take me at least two and a half hours.

apparently, so bernie tells me, the world reccord for 10miles is 45minutes. needless to say, i'm abit off the pace (still got the rest of august, all of september and most of october left for training. i'm hoping to get under 2 hours otherwise my running buddy bernie will be deserting me beofre we're even half way round)

then home and cooked a big pan of cauliflower cheese - i have now got at least 6 lunches for work over the next week or so.

feeling pretty good about my training.
next session with dan is 8am wednesday morning.

Month 4 day 14

just back from brighton pride - had a top w/e.

decided not to take running gear and have a proper rest (afterall i worked out every day last week: monday - friday). so i did lots of walking instead plus i think i ate pretty well (feel free to check with sarah, bernie & jackie) and didnt drink hardly any alcohol - just a couple of small glasses of white wine saturday evening.

so all in all i think it was a pretty sucessful w/e of not over doing it too much.

(although i did eat a few malteasers at the film saturday night but i was sharing with clare) - film was great fun - "jan's coming out" - definately worth checking out

Month 4 day 11 - 79 days to the GSR

at 8am this morning i was on the treadmill, then the xtrainer, then lots of stretches.
work 10-6pm
home to tidy up and do some chores and then watch torchwood.

oh... and i had a sea food treat pizza - delicious!
obviously in need of comfort food

Month 4 day 10

meant to post last evening but was too busy cycling over to maisie's to hear all about co camp (woodcraft folk international camp)
  • was on the treadmill for 33 mins!!
  • ran/power walked for over 3kms
feeling terribly proud of myself.
got dan this evening

just back from ceno's - had a delicious morocan (sp?) chicken with chick peas, cous cous salad, flat bread and tzaniki? that yummy dip. plus one large glass of white wine.
all good though because had dan this evening & had already done 20 odd mins before i then ran for 30mins non stop on the treadmill under dan's watchful eye - you can do it liz, dig in, just five more minutes and other such encouraging words.

was great.

it's now 11.30pm and i've got dan again tomorrow morning at 8am. wondering if i'll become a gym rat totally obsessed with my abs...

Month 4 day 8 - 82 days till the GSR

what a fab session at the gym this evening. ran for 25mins. and it didnt kill me. the boredom of running though probably will. i need to get an mp3 player. and quickly. running is just sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tedious.

fyi - i have now paid for all my pt (personal training) sessions with dan. operation fit and healthy is back on track.

Month 4 day 7 - 83 days till the GSR

have decided to shorten Great South Run to GSR.

so, lovely weekend up in yorkshire with cousin ruth and the gang. fingers crossed for some more sponsorship. kevin gave me £10 - £1 for every mile - he's not expecting any change!!

but did i actually do anything for OF&H?
umm
not really...

we went for a lovely walk in a near by woods for about an hour this afternoon, and if anyone has ever tried to get to the victoria line from kings cross station then you know alot of walking is involved.
i suppose i didnt drink too much red wine and only had seconds of everything on offer as opposed to thirds and fourths...

needless to say i'm back in the gym tomorrow - dan at 7pm.
i really do need to nuckle down.
got over £40 in sponsorship - absolutly no turning back now

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek.

Month 4 day 5 - 85 days till the Great South Run

dan couldn't make this morning - but do you know what? i still went to the gym! ran for 20mins and did some mat work - stretches etc...

then work - knackered.
then home - made sauasage casserole (yum)

and now? well to be honest, i'm thinking of going to bed.

busy day tomorrow - up to leeds for cousin's bday and house warming - should be a hoot. and of course i'll have tiny portions of any food laid on and will be sipping sparkling water all night.

can't wait!

Month 4 day 3 - 87 days till the Great South Run

back with dan - he made me run for 20mins - about 2.5km, then we did some boxing and squots (sp?). next session 8.15am on friday.

11 weeks/87 days till the great south run - dan reckons i'll be fine!
