Day 3 of house arrest

Best colleagues ever!!
Secret Santa gift, cupcakes and gin hand delivered 🤗

Back working from home

It's okay - I've set my phone HIIT app so I get up and move about every 15mins

Also it's about 15m or so one lap of my flat - back door to front door and back.

1km is about 70 laps
1mile is about 110 laps

It's a way to keep my step count up 💪

Why I’m under house arrest

Orders from track and trace. I'm fine but someone in my bubble tested positive :(

Day 2 of house arrest 16/12

Awesome Hurtbox sprint session and I made breakfast muffins

Wednesday 2 December 2020

New goals for 2021

Right, time to set myself a few goals for 2021

And, unlike the last time - see huge sheet of paper with my 'i am going to do 50…' 'i am going to lose 50…' etc… these ones are maybe a tad more manageable.
Although i have finally lost those elusive 20lbs that i first hoped to lose back in 2015. (As we all know if you lose 20lbs you go 20mins faster over a marathon with no extra training!)

Anyways…

1. The old favourite of going sub 7:30 in a half ironman - doing the Swashbuckler in July 2021 (deferred from May 2020). If i can go under seven and a half hours then Lizzie Lou is going long in 2022
2. Touch my toes by 25th March 2021. Currently i can touch my shins
3. Learn to play the piano. Currently i have a lot of fun making a noise on my Yamaha keyboard but nothing anyone can either recognise or would want to listen to.
4. Lose another 10kg - I have maintained since July 2020 but have not got any smaller. Would love to be a size 12 or even a size 10…

So, all very doable xx

Sunday 22 November 2020

Ran yesterday round Hoglands Park five and a bit times - on the grass so kinda a cross country run
Today out with Jenny into the New Forest - bumped into Sue which was fabulous so we all did the 10mile TT together

4K run 30.28
10mile bike 38.39

Saturday 19 September 2020

Wednesday 9 September 2020

Swim, tea, run 🤗

Katherine's 50th bday today
Swimming at Highcliffe
Second breakfast
Tea at Jenny's
Tea at Karyn's
Lunch
Tea at Vik's
Popped round to RHP
Run of 5k in 36.23

What a fabulous day 💪

Thursday 3 September 2020

1st day back and 5k run

Top first day back at work!
Awesome to see everyone 🤗
Then ran 5k in 35mins

I'm running 112km in Sept - one Km represents one woman killed by their partner. So far I've remembered 10 women.

Wednesday 2 September 2020

And just like that - I’m back to work tomorrow

119 days later I'm going to work tomorrow!!

I'm 10kg lighter than I was at Christmas
I've done loads of cycling, a fair amount of running and online fitness classes and some open water swimming.

I've watched a lot on Prime, Netflix, YouTube, Disney and regular TV

I've read a lot more than I have for years
I've done all my filing, rearranged my flat, sorted and tidied a fair amount - still plenty to do.

I've had a bike fit and got a new washer/dryer
And saved ££ on haircuts with my new clippers.

All in all it's been a rather productive and fun furlough but I am excited / looking forward to going back to work xx

Sunday 2 August 2020

OGTFC&T - tackling that filing!

Eeeep, 2016 was the last time I did any major filing / shredding!!!

I've made a good solid start...
Pre 2016 stuff sorted / mostly shredded getting ready for filing / sorting 2017-2020 🤗💪

I now have A LOT of shredded paper 😂

Friday 31 July 2020

Day3 OGTFC&T

Cleaning products have been purchased!!
10L of white vinegar
10kg of Bicarb

It's all about the prep 😂👍

Wednesday 29 July 2020

The Organised Mum Method meets LizzieLou

It's been awhile since I've last added anything to OF&H and I will do a longer summary of the last few months in a bit.
However, today it's all about Operation Get The Flat Clean & Tidy 'OGTFC&T'

An hour later - entrance hall, skirting boards, door are all clean and tidy ❤️

In five weeks time I'm back to work tomorrow so I'm going to spend the summer still doing OF&H but I'm also going to be doing OGTFC&T 🤗🎉

I reckon if I can get my flat (including garden and shed) all sorted it's going to help me keep my focus for keeping my blood sugars in check, lose another 9kg and at least 10cm off my tummy by Christmas and my next blood test.

LizzieLou hops aboard the Cleaning Train 🚂 😂

StayingAlertDay19

Another fabulous weekend!

Saturday was mainly spent sorting out three draws of stuff in my chest of draws in the living room. I now feel awesome.

Sunday was mainly spent cycling 55km with Jenny then running 9k with Vik.

I'm now quite tired!!!

Sunday 24 May 2020

StayingAlertDays 11&12

Lovely weekend 🤗

Saturday I woke up before 8am, couldn't get back to sleep so got up and went for a run. Just 3.6k, 28mins but felt great.

Today I cycled to Lepe beach with Jenny Penney from Tri Club. About 60k, was four hours door to door but did have a little snack break at Lepe

Such a great weekend...
Made banana bread, video chatted with lots of chums, had a roast chicken Sunday dinner, watched the 'show must go on' Sound of Music, reread the Hunger Games.

Also, looks like I maybe furlough for another three weeks. It's like I'm having work experience in being retired 😂

Wednesday 20 May 2020

StayingAlertDay8

Great day

Pilates
Banana cake muffins
Lots of reading about type2 diabetes
A socially distancing run on the common with Shazza. 60mins. About 6.5/7k

I'm now feeling physically tired. Love it!!

Monday 18 May 2020

BeingAlert Day6

Today mostly consisted of making American Pancakes, seeing colleagues during the CS 'teams' team meeting, catching up with Caryl and Alison on the common, joining the HB session slightly late, cooking a bacon/pasta dish and chilling in front of the TV

Another lovely day 🤗

Sunday 17 May 2020

BeingAlert day5

Hoorah for a 60k bike ride in the New Forest with Jenny Penney from STC 🤗
Then, absolute bonus - got to see H in 3D before cycling home.

Zoom catch up with the family
Kiah's Zoom Graduation
STC quiz

Another top day

Friday 15 May 2020

BeAlert day3

Last day of my holiday - let's make it count!

HB session at 9:30am
Then off cycling at 12:15pm - SD catch up with Karen then cycled through the UoS campus, so lovely to see it.

SD catch up with Charlotte, no Caroline as at work.
Then SD catch up with Sarah
Then cycled to Woolston via Athelston Road  - cycled the whole way up!
SD catch up with Vik and Jack then home

About three hours so although needed to pee wasn't as desperate as Wednesday!

TV, roast chicken and made muffins.
Cats on YouTube
Catch up video chat with Debs and Ingie

Great last day of A/L 🤗👍

Thursday 14 May 2020

BeAlert day2

Ran 5.2km 42mins
Stationary bike for 30mins
A socially distancing cuppa and walk with Charlotte
Catch up with the KAC gang in the evening.

I'm pretty much 97% sure Ride London will not be going ahead but I'm going to train as if it is.

Basically I need to be able to cycle 70miles on a Friday then cycle back 70miles on a Sunday so I can get to Ashtead to see Debs, Markie, Mum, the girls and chums ❤️

I don't think public transport will be a good idea until next year but when we're allowed to move about more freely I will want to go see friends and family who live further away than 10-15miles.

Hurtbox tomorrow but I will also go for a longer bike ride. The other thing as discussed yesterday is the whole no public toilets / unable to use anyone else's loo so currently my absolute limit is 4hours without a comfort break!!!

Wednesday 13 May 2020

Day51 = Day1 of Being Alert 🤗

What a day!
Day1 of Being Alert means we're able to exercise as much as possible and socially distance meet with friends / family.

Wonderful.

So, for the first time in over 50 days I got on my bike and went for a cycle.
Cup of tea for Jenny's bday
A picnic lunch for Amy's bday
A front garden leaning on the wall catch up with Sue
A cuppa with Katherine
A chat by the common with Alison
Then a very fast cycle home as it was nearly four hours since my last trip to the loo 😂

Hurtbox session
TV

Today has been a great day 💪👌😀

Sunday 10 May 2020

Day48

Awesome HB Endurance session - I ended up doing one and three quarter hours 💪
Bottle bank and shower then lunch.

After that I didn't then do much for the rest of the day
Saw Sarah from my balcony
Read my kindle
Watched TV

Ate the last of the 71 chocolate biscuits - pretty good going for six days. It's definitely time to give up sugar just like 14 years ago I decided it was time to give up cigarettes.

Welcome to two weeks of hell 🤔

Saturday 9 May 2020

Instead it's #DayOne of my Southampton City Break. Yay. #MakingTheMostOfIt 🤗

So how did I fill day one of
my holiday?

* I did a quiz with my KAC chums
* I watched 'Last of The Jedi' on The Disney Channel
* I looked for the super amazing Moon - it's behind a tree so will check it out in another hour or so.

Top #DayOne of my #NotMallorcaHoliday 🤗

Tuesday 5 May 2020

Day41 and Day42

Forgot to update Sunday and yesterday.

Sunday was good - did 90mins endurance on the bike with Jenny
Saw Shaz and Karyn from my balcony.
STC quiz

Monday - also good
Jo's Hi/Low HIIT class
Teams CS team mtg
Being furloughed so my 11 day holiday just became 21 days
HB, Disney channel and Torchwood 🤗

Saturday 2 May 2020

Day40

Started strong!!
Made a huge bowl of fruit salad then went for a 7k run in 55minutes. Only stopped if cars were coming when crossing the road. Very comfortable, if I'd of been running with Pam and/or Shaz I'd of been able to talk non stop. So happy.

The rest of the day was video chatting, snacking and TV; so not so active 😂

Friday 1 May 2020

Day39

Epic HURTBOX session then excel spreadsheets, socially distancing walk with Charlotte, Dr.Who chats with Katie, and messenger catch up with Sarah & Sue.

And just like that Mayday 2020 is over.

Wednesday 29 April 2020

Day37

It's starting to feel like I'm under house arrest. I'm not of course but me, myself and I have been kicking around my flat on my own now for 8+37 days.

Today has mostly been recovering from yesterday's epic training session.

Catch up with Lindsey around my nutrition stuff - got 4 more weeks with her and it's going brilliantly. 20cm less of me 🤗

20mins of Aero Conditioning
60mins of HURTBOX

Then a 20min chat with Katie on Dr.Who and Torchwood.
Supper, started to rewatch STPicard and now it's 22:10 and it's time for bed.

Five more days of work then I'm off for 11 days. Me and the gang should have been jetting off to Mallorca next Thursday - holiday and supporting Donna, JennyA and Suzanne at Mallorca 70.3

Instead I'll be in my flat reading, training, cleaning, pottering, sorting, watching TV.

Yay 😕

Tuesday 28 April 2020

Day36

What a day!!
Def feeling loads more positive. I think the 9-5:15pm shift this week is helping.

So today I mostly worked out.
Slept really well - was in bed by 10:45pm last night, also I have a tendency to eat and eat and eat late at night so figured get to bed before you start getting peckish 😂

Chair Pilates with Maxine

Low impact HIIT with Jo
40min run 5.8km
35 hard minutes on the stationary bike

Pretty much two solid hours of working out from 5-7pm. Felt EPIC.
Then a big healthy plate of jacket potatoes, humous and salad followed by a slice of yesterday's banana bread 🤗

Zoom quiz with chums and now just chilling in front of the TV. Also today I 'saw' Vik - she was in her car talking up to me while I was on my balcony talking down to her.
Seeing a friend in 3D = Priceless ❤️

Monday 27 April 2020

Day35

I think it's good that it's my 9-5:15pm week as I need some stability as def a bit wobbly. Nothing major, just missing friends, family, colleagues.
I can see  this week being a week of getting stuff done!!

Posted a letter to Nathan - wanted to catch the 9am post so I have been out today and had a walk round the block after letter posted.
'Wide Lane' week - basically 9-5:15pm

12pm stretch with Jo
1pm CS team meeting
Made banana bread
5pm Latin Fusion. OMG Michela is so blinking quick and I'm so blinking hilariously awful. I spend the 30minutes of the class that I do just laughing at myself.
5:30pm HB in my bedroom on my stationary bike
8pm Quiz with old mates from Ashtead / St.Georges.

And now, let's see if I can get to bed before 10:30pm!!

Sunday 26 April 2020

Day34

Today has been good but I'm feeling melancholy at the end of the day...

HURTBOX Endurance session
Chatting to Bernie, Sarah, Clare and E
Chat to Jules while having lunch
More Star Trek Discovery
Moved stationary bike to my bedroom
60min session joining Suzanne doing a bike relay.
Supper
Walk
More Star Trek and the Radio

Feeling great physically today - love the fact I needed two showers!!
Getting stronger.

Will the Southampton half and Ride London happen? Probably not but I'm going to train as if they will be happening. I reckon if they don't happen I'll just do them virtually / outside but not with crowds...

Saturday 25 April 2020

Day33

Oh good lord - we've now moved into month two - yay 🙁

Today I ran a mile in 10.21
Let's see how much quicker I can get

Friday 24 April 2020

Day32

We're now into the second month of lockdown. It feels as if we've been in lockdown for ages!! So weird.

Haven't actually been out of my flat today.

Hurtbox session on the balcony, watched day 1 of the NFL Draft, work, zoom chat.

Thursday 23 April 2020

Day31

Decided to do a hills session today. 4K 30mins. Five laps of running up to Tudor House and two laps of the little rises opposite Queens Park. Felt strong. Was knackered. Great stretches on balcony.

Ben R's yoga then I clippered my hair 😮

Work, quiz with the KAC gang and now hours of NFL draft as the first pick will be drawn at about 1am tomorrow morning UK time.

Day30

It's just into day 31 as I've been watching back to back episodes of Discovery and of course time had disappeared just as I knew it would!

I walked with purpose for just over an hour all over Southampton then did some of Jon's Core session this morning.
20mins of Michela's Aero-conditioning then Hurtbox on the balcony this evening.

Worked till 10:15pm then crumpets and Discovery for two hours.
Def time for bed 🤔😂

Tuesday 21 April 2020

Day29

Another day...
I've been sucked back into Star Trek Discovery... I see late nights ahead 😂
HIIT class - didn't do all of it - did some of my own stuff.
LRR S&C via Zoom
Working
Netflix

And now it's nearly tomorrow .
Ate  crumpets.
Time for bed.

Day28

Written in the early hours of day 29

Back on it...
5k run in 40mins
Jo's stretch class
30mins of Latin Fusion
Hurtbox session on the balcony.

Devoured all the chocolate
It's official - as if I needed proof - I cannot / must not have chocolate in the house.

Sunday 19 April 2020

Day27

Feeling positive about my OF&H progress after today
70mins on the stationary bike then 30mins HIIT online class.
Then a protein shake.

Roast chicken, reading, chat to P&K as they were in town. Had a wonderful walk early evening - light so beautiful.

NFL on TV and so pleased as the draft is on a channel I now have due to the lockdown, then STC quiz.

Saturday 18 April 2020

Day26

Today I mostly worked, tidied my Tupperware, have a zoom cuppa with Tri club, drank wine, ate some chocolate and did a quiz with the coven.

Tomorrow I'm back training.
Must get my mojo back for both exercise and healthy eating.
