HB sprinting session 30/3/17

Well the first ten sprints were fine. It was only after the rest that the wheels fell off!!

Great session though

Then off to IOW to picnic on the ferry with Michael. Yay for extra time via battery going dead and the AA coming out :)

Perform seminar on running

I love going to seminars and or workshop on anything to do with triathlons. Wednesdays seminar was about improving your running.

Loads of running buddies, talked about tapering VO2 max, training plans. Salt, gravity running and lactic threshold.

Five hours walking around Green Park / Hyde Park...

Tourist in London for the day :)

Met Deb, John and the girls 11:15am just inside Hyde Park.

Picnic in Green Park then meandered around Hyde Park for a few hours before heading to Wembly. Left them there to watch the England game while i headed back to the Festival Hall then home.

Such an amazing day.
Plus helped my marathon training as pretty much spent five hours on my feet so good to remind myself what that feels like!

TWD #1 - great fun

Over six hours with STC today. Loved every minute!

Swim 9.06 for 400m.
Slower than the last TWD 22/10/16 but it felt easy / effortless which bodes well for upcoming races

Cuddles with M while mummy swam :)

Jenny took us out to the ten mile time trial over in lyndhurst.

Bike 40.37 for 10m TT.
Well lets just say that Claire F overtaking me reminded me it was a race! What a lovely day for a bike ride. Wind was quite bonkers though.

Run 4k 27.36
Chatted non stop with Sue while admiring the gorgeous route. The whole gang then wanted for us all to finish. So inclusive. So friendly.

Then pub for food.

Was such a lovely time, suddenly realised it was 2:45pm!

Got dropped off, so tired.
Hugely bruised left little toe :(

Bit of TV. Bit of shopping. Bit of eating. Then put my alarm clock forward and figured it's bedtime x

Friday 24/3 - totally forgotten i'd booked the day off!

How marvellous.
An unexpected day off.

Sorted out paperwork for mortgage, posted cards, got my puncture fixed.

Franco Manca for luncheon, decathlon. Bit tired.

Walked round the common with XX and Holly Dog.

Then the main event for the day - Hurtbox seminar on nutrition and hydration. Was brilliant.

Performance chef Alan.
Main Action point - sort out your gut. I may go gluten free...

Hurtbox session with hardly any stoppages!!!

Omg!!!
I just kept peddaling :)
Felt great.

Today was a good day.
Fixed my puncture which was then flat within five mins of leaving the house. Hoorah for Cycle Republic - puncture fixed.

Miche massage - amazing. Also said my muscles were very hydrated and in very good condition.

Enjoyed the evening shift at work then Hurtbox.

Home, snacks, washing up and laundry. Yep a great day.

An evening too beautiful not to run in it.

This morning and early afternoon were so wet. This evening though was beautiful. The pic is from the Woolston side of the Itchen Bridge.

80mins out to Weston Shore and back. Knee was okay. I fluctuated between this is fabulously easy to omg i can't believe i'm hoping to run a marathon in a couple of weeks.

Nipped into work as Lisa was cooking for TSH. Yum. Then Lidls, then tea and chocolate biscuits while watching Insuregent on Netflix.

Time for bed now.
Very pleased with today :)

S&C, sweets and HB

First day of spring. Such a lovely day and when it did tip it down it didnt matters because i was inside :)

S&C was fun - wall sit, press ups, scissor kick, inch worm, single leg dips, thrusting crotch - can't remember the exercise! Did each circuit maybe three or four times.

James's bday tomorrow so we sang happy birthday, Inez sorted a cake and we smothered him in sweets and chocolate. Lovely atmosphere, super fun.

Then HB with Donna and Ian. Tough session. Still unable.to do an entire session without stopping but i def had some keeping going moment before collapsing!

Then got a bloody puncture cycling home. Well ticked off. Will need to fix tomorrow...

Bedtime.

Cycle Run Run

I really do love it when you get to cycle at least 35-45mins and get to call it work! I had a round trip to Youth In Romsey today - approx 7.5miles there (35mins) and 8.5miles home - although i did get slightly disorientated due to all the new road layout up near ordenance survey.

LRR group A we went up.to the track and had a fabulous time. Josh brought his whistle and we did a couple of pyramids of 20/30/40/30/20 sets of hard running then walk back.to start

I then ran us back to Tauntons and did some stretches. Totally over ran so didnt make swimming. Went for a run instead. 35mins then 10mins stretching on the balcony. Very happy.

Now bedtime. I'm quite tired :)

A gentle 45mins run. Felt great

In the end i was out for 45mins. Did i feel a niggle right at thr end? Not sure. Which is probably the main reason why i stopped at 45mins.

It had felt so easy. I felt strong, relaxed and kinda like i was flying!

Home for S&C for 12mins then stretches and foam roller.

Shower, Ikea, sorted out hotel for Weymouth half ironman in September, laundry. Then Charlotte and Tobie's for roast dinner.

The end of a lovely lovely weekend :)

Saturday, 18 March 2017

What a fab day!!!

It started at 7:30am at the sports centre for James's coaching session. Nice and gentley. Did a great drill - ran in a line with thr person at thr back sprinting to the front. Then some S&C.

Cheered on the start of parkrun with Theresa and Sue.
Lots of familiar faces - Tamsyn and baby Morgelyn, Kym, Debbie, BB, Jo, Amy, Abel, Sarah and Trevor to Name but a few.

Off to work for the March information session. Home via AC to give James his grapefruit spoon.

Luncheon, bit of TV, some gardening. Talking Heads for Teapot reunion then Rose's for digging.

Supper, catch up tv, chilling in the garden. And now at 10pm - bedtime.

Friday, 17 March 2017

Rest day #3. Fingers crossed it's enough...

Will run tomorrow.
If knee okay then will do one 10m loop Sunday then cheer Kelly in :)

Tuesday, 14 March 2017

Usual awesome Tuesday of S&C then HB :)

Lots accomplished at work - always make you feel good.

Then a popcorn run to mates daughter before S&C at Tauntons with LRR.

Tough session, sweat dribbling down my legs! But good. No niggles - left calf felt okay and right knee, no twinges at all. Very pleased
Nick suggested i just do one 10mile loop on Sunday instead of the whole 20miles. I'm quite tempted but will wait to see how my knee is on Saturday

Then cycled to Hurtbox. Richard ill so just me and Suzanne. Woah. Tough tough session. Alot of stopping. But also some very hard cycling at 105-120%. Talk about feeling one's heart literally beating out of your chest!

Delighted with how this week is turning out so far. Abit sad about not doing the Runcamp 5k in the New Forest tomorrow eve but def right decision. Resting now till Saturday. Well no running till Saturday. Got another HB session booked for Thursday eve.

The Surrey Half - PB!!!

What a fantastic day.
2:33.16 - fastest half ever for me :)
Was a bit rainy, chatting to two women - Tina who's doing Brighton and Ruth who was doing her first ever half.

Did 10miles in 1:52. For awhile there i did think i was going to go sun 2:30 for the half. But i didnt.

Left calf started to hurt and my right knee also twinges of pain. So did alot of walking in those last couple of kms. Also had a massage and stretched. I'm abit worried about whether of not i'll be okay tomorrow... Eeeeeep

But right now?
I feel awesome :)

Saturday, 11 March 2017

Swimming and then a bike ride

Tri club 1st thing - am.now doing 100m in 60-64 seconds!

Then over to Suzanne's near botley for a bike ride with Jenny.

25km, 1:15.
Super fun, hilly, tough. 20km/h or approx 12mile/h.

Luncheon, chores,Ocean Village for Pam's bday. A good day.

Surrey half marathon tomorrow. K's on the 6:55am train as well. Excellent.

Friday, 10 March 2017

Rest day :)

Proper rest day, No guilt.

Made a huge cauliflower cheese pasta bake and cleaned bike ready for bike ride tomorrow with the girls.

Wednesday, 8 March 2017

Nearly didnt go training...

It's like i've woken up from a nap that's lasted a year and now i've got alot of catching up.to do!

That's me at work. Eeeeeep. Needless to say i'm now always tired when i get home. Which i guess means it's even more important to not skip training...

Was so close this evening. The weather made the hills session on the common with Emily LRR fairly easy to skip but i was also so.close to bailing on HB.

So pleased i didnt. Yes it was tough but they're always tough. So i stopped a few times and nearly collapsed a few.more.times, but i got through it. I finished it.

I'm very very pleased.

Then an absolute corker of a Madam Secretary, shower and bed.

Yet another lovely day x

Tuesday, 7 March 2017

What a beautiful day.

Babysitting so no S&C or HB but that's okay because i had a lovely evening - went for a run on the common and watched the film Divergent.

Out for 51.30.67
Running, throwing a stick for Holly Dog, stopping to call Holly Dog, going back to find Holly Dog, going out of my way to retrieve Holly Dog.

But lets focus on the fact i did get to go running, did get out of breath and did need a shower when i got back :)

The film Divergent is excellent, i'm now looking forward to reading the second of the series Insuregent.

Monday, 6 March 2017

Today ended up being a rest day!

Just too tired when i got back from work today to get to LRR to run lead with Josh the A's :(
Gutted but didnt have anything left in the tank!

However great day at work - managed to write up a piece of training that i'd been wanting to do for a month or so. Delighted with that. Not so delighted with lack of energy for running. Boo.

Then tri club committee meeting and seeing if my bike fits in Jenny's car for our bike ride over in the Meon Valley on Saturday.
It does :)

Yep, a good day.
Will run tomorrow,  then run (LRR hills session with Emily) and HB Wednesday,  HB Thursday and run Friday. Swim and cycle Saturday with the Surrey half marathon Sunday.

Mabes just as well today was a rest day!

Sunday, 5 March 2017

Lovely run on tarmac :)

Yeah, decided not to do the Leith Hill half. Was pouring with rain when i woke up. Too scared about the whole slippey muddy hilly puddles uneven surface turning ankles to risk it!!

It was then of course, fairly lovely weather, but decision had been made and regardless of sun now, the ground would still be one huge mud bath.

I was determined to go for a run though.

1:23.55 non stop - felt fine. Tired but not at all.knackered - up culverhay, onto common, popped out at wells estate, down a24 to bramley way to woodfield. Past pond, st georges and barnet wood. Up to plough roundabout along barnet wood lane, cleeve lane, along to station, up and round to leatherhead past sainsburys carpark. Linden round st johns then popped out on leatherhead road and up to the beeches to see dad. Mabes 10/11k.

Visited with dad for 39.23.52 :)

Started to chuck it down when i left but only for a few mins. Sooo cold!! Ran to.mums via top of Ashtead 21.33.37 - cup.of tea and then debs and katie collected me.

Such a lovely few hours or so of running and visiting. So pleased to have not done leith hill as got to see both mum and dad and had a good run. Win / Win.

Then back to Southampton a few hours later. Another yummy turkey lasagne in the fridge for some meals next week.
Must get focused on the fifth tri discipline of nutrition!!!

Saturday 4/3

My 100m times are regulary 2.02-2.10 which is amazing compared to even a few months ago. I reckon i'll soon be sub 9mins all the time for 400m which would be awesome.

My 400m time today was 9.17.92 but i did stop to let the gang overtake me.

My 100m time in a race situation is Approx 2.07 which would make an 8.28 time in a sprint tri.

Tea at Tudor House then off to Portsmouth with my IV young person.

Debs and the girls arrived 7:30ish for pizza, a stroll to the old walls and a Lizzie pick up to Ashtead. Back in Overdale by 11:15pm

The big decision though... Will i be doing the Leith Hill half marathon the following day??

Busy friday 3/3

Blimey!!!  Busy :)

Work which included a cycle to Millbrook to check out the health bus then Ally's leaving drinks at the Cowherds then Hurtbox - tough but did it.

Weather was awful, so no dancing just home to tidy up and get ready for the weekend.

Thursday, 2 March 2017

Hurtbox session - forget my bike shoes!

Ooops, forget to bring my cycling shoes so did the session in my vans. Hilarious. And blimey, talked about noticing the huge difference between being clipped in and not being clipped in. Bonkers huge. I may well wear my bike trainers alot more now...

There was some stopping but it was a tough session. Six times six min block of 90-95% with barely a minute of slight recovery.

The joy of finishing though is all the more sweeter when it's a tough session :)

Then home to make a delicious turkey mince lasagne with some of the sour cream lake we currently have at work.

Plus it's Friday tomorrow - Ally's leaving drinks then another HB session then a quick shower before checking out The Hill for a couple of hours of dancing :)

Wednesday, 1 March 2017

Love Runcamp at the track with LRRs :)

I really love the running community,  my running club, my running mates and Runcamp.

4mins running, 1min walk x8
Approx 5.6km in 38.57.15

Then wine with the Baxpatricks.

Another great day.

Plus possible new opportunities at work :)
