Day 4 of bday celebrations - food friends but no training x

Another fabulous day. Hungover and sore from the billy bash. I can't do two days drinking in a row!

Bday buffet luncheon - such a wonderfully chilled afternoon with dear friends. Flat now looks super tidy.

An evening of snacking music and TV.

Back on it tomorrow
My goal this week is to up my running to an hour each time.

Derbyshire to visit Sarah and Dave at the weekend. Can't wait.

Bday celebrations day 3 - danced the night away!!!

What a wonderful Saturday :)

Got my lie in then met Jenny at Tudor House for a cuppa.

Fareham for the afternoon so a good 10mins of cycling and about 3 miles of walking.

Home just in time for a quick bath then out to the Novotel for the Billy Bash - Lordshill Road Runners awards night. OMG.  Wonderful food. Ace company. Lovely to chat to everyone without being all pink and sweaty! And then we all got pink and sweaty as we danced the night and way for at least two / two and a half hours. An amazing workout. Brilliant fun.

Snap is me with our women's Captain and Vice Captain Alice & Lucy :)

Last day of being 48 :)

Great HB session with Jenny and Andy led by Lindsey. I did do some stopping and backpedderling but overall it felt okay. Legs are tired but I think that's because I'm using them regularly for the first time since before Christmas. Pretty sure all.of my cold has now gone amd this is it now for the rest of the season.

Next event is 25th Feb - Winchester 10k. Be fun to see if I'm any quicker than last year.

45min run. Like running through treacle.

I've just got to keep plugging away and run. Just run. Keep running. It'll get easier as I get stronger :)

Monday, 22 January 2018

45mins swim set. Knackered.

Met Tamsyn in the JSC pool for a swim set. Felt like I was swimming in treacle. Would have def stopped if Tamsyn hadn't of been there. So pleased to have done most of the set. Definately felt as if I'd worked out as was that happily tired you get from exercise :)

Will run at least 45mins tomorrow then HB Wednesday.

To stressed to watch the afc championship game!

I have spent the evening checking the score while doing other stuff. Let's just say my beloved Packers are the only team I'm going to willingly put myself through the ringer for!

Up at 5.15am to get to work for 6.45am
I am enjoying my new job. I like people. Pretty much all I'm doing each day helping people talking to people laughing with people.

Had arranged with Pam to go for a run after work. I've found I can easily let myself down and not go for a run but I can't let others down. We did 5.5km in 47mins. Chatted pretty much non stop plus I did make Pam walk a bit as I was shattered. I'm obviously not marathon fit yet but I reckon I will be within 12 weeks.

Week 1 of 12 starts tomorrow. Eeeeeeep.

Runcamp trail morning / seminar afternoon

Early birthday pressie to myself and at £16 it was way cheaper than Runcamps marathon weekend this time last year!

Me Jo Sian Sue S amd Sue A all headed off to QE2 country park this morning. Loved it.

Warn up and Drills for an hour on the field
Technique for going down then up hill on a slope by the car park. But scary. Point your feet downhill amd let your trail shoes keep you upright.
Then off on a run with various stops for more techniques.

Approx 8miles of running.
I fell flat on my back. Not hurt so phew. Put my heal down and flipped back. Alot of mud but dad's Walton Heath waterproof is a great running in the wet top.

Lunch in the cafe. Hoorah for complete change of clothes. So many lovely Runcampers. Great to see James P again.

Seminar in the afternoon - fascinating.
Phils ultra last year in biblical downpour for ten hours.
Bens first place in his first ultra.
Ants summing up.

S&C vital.
More running needed.
Little steps quick cadance.

Home.
Lidls
TV
Bath
Bed.

I'm very sore but so happy. Brighton marathon training is back on with a vengeance.

And out the other side after 8 days of illness

Well I wasn't quite expecting this training pause...

It was all going so well!
Saturday must have done about 20 miles of cycling then Auntie's 80th.  Was starting to feel a bit peaky, didn't have any alcohol so decided to whoop and cheer the gang at the cc6 instead of racing.

Monday was training Uni so went into work. And that was all she wrote for the rest of the week.

Called in sick Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Thought I might be okay Friday so off to lidls for supplies. Spent about half an hour on the sofa recovering so decided mabes not quite recovered!!!

Friday was also spent in pj's. Have watched alot of Netflix.

Met Suzanne for a cuppa at Tudor House Saturday morning (no parkrun). Had a walk. Then in for the rest of the day.

Sunday - whooped and cheered at Stubbington. Drank tea. Loved it. Popped into A's on way home. Back by 3pm. Tidied. Pottered. Now in for the evening and the divisional round of the playoffs.

Will def be back at work tomorrow 12 noon.
Will gently get back into Operation Brighton Marathon this week.

Overall though I'm feeling positive for my training, happy in the knowledge I've allowed myself to rest and recuperate from my lurgy :)

Bit tired today....

Six days on the trot for both working and excersizing so have taken today off.

Great HB session. Yes I did alot of backpedderling and I put my ftp down to 151 but I'm so glad I kept at it.

I've now given my bike a good wash and have used my litter picker. All in all a lovely morning  :)

Thursday 4th Jan

I run-led myself and two fellow LRRs at the track - 5mins run / 1 min walk x8
I ended up doing 5.2km in 4mins :)

At work I did 400m in 9.04.46

I'm feeling quietly confident about of&h for January. I wonder if I've lost any weight?

HB a run and swim :)

Today - we'll yesterday now (3/1) I did HB with Kelly and Darryl from tri club then went for a quick run. Left shin - bit sore... Bumped into Charlotte so walked her halfway home - then I ran home. Shin fine. 20mins.
Work - swam during break.  Miscounted again. 350m 8.09.97

Feeling positive for January

Happy New Year! Operation Fit and Healthy is baaaaaaack :)

I think I had PTSD from Weymouth 70.3

But I reckon I've finally got over the horror of it and am now ready to focus on my 2018 season. Needless to say making sure I actually do enough training for my upcoming events will be my major focus

Although I also loved the event - all eight hours twenty four minutes and twenty seven seconds. And my feelings of total and utter epic accomplishment are second to none. Just look at the pic taken in the finishing chute for proof x

So what have I done to kick start of&h?
I've made a pact with myself that I'll swim every day that I'm at the Jubilee Sports Centre and I've signed up to Runcamps Runuary.

30/12 - 20mins of splashing about while chatting to Sarah
31/12 - 400m 9.33.02
01/01 - 350m 8.05.96 (mis-counted!)
02/01 - 400m 9.25.25 and 35mins at Hurtbox

Plus I'm focused on losing 20lbs by the Brighton Marathon in 14 weeks time.

Wahooooooooo
Let's do this!!!!!!
