Too windy to ride so ran instead

Way to blustery to go cycling with Jenny so ran instead.
Great day - tracked Ant at Marbella 70.3 where he won his AG, was 4th AG overall and 17th overall of all 1800 odd competitors. Amazing.

I ran for an hour and then SB for five mins :)

Upped my ftp to 161 ready for next week

Decided to up my ftp to 161 for next week. If I'm still strong at the end of a HB session it probably means it's time to up my ftp!!

7 hours jet washing = 1 broken woman!

Oh good lord. 9am - 4:15pm. Jet washing, cleaned changing rooms, emptied bins. Utterly shattered. Am feeling all 50 years and exactly 2 months of me :)

I'm def getting stronger, but jeez, such physical work - was using the petrol jet washer today - that's got such a huge kick - plus noisy so had my ear protectors on.

Didn't make it to the pool afterwards. Haven't managed to do much this evening. Maybe swimming would have helped... Will know for next time :)

Eight weeks to go...

Swam yesterday - am determined to get in the jubilee pool as much I can... Only 800m - about 20-25mins, so happy to get in the water.

Today - ran for 50mins then on stationary bike on my front balcony for 10mins.

Feeling great. Just need to lose some of my fat now :)


Can't stop eating chocolate

Rest of the Easter bunny has been demolished.

Swam 800m approx 20-25mins in the pool at Jubilee Sports Centre. Then supper with A and XX.

8 weeks out from the Lakesman half IM. Chocolate is def one of my hurdles...

5.5k run with the girls

47mins for 5.5km with Pam and Sharon with Vik and Lisa from SRS.
Knee felt fine
Felt strong and could easily have done loads more so feeling very positive about my running. Think I'll only do 6miles on the 5/5 as really don't want to overdo it and get hurt.

So lovely seeing Claire and Linda at East Cowes then drank / ate with Shaz and Karyn.

Cycled to Gosport and back

Saw my yp today. 
Cycled to Gosport - left at 11:25 and arrived in Gosport 13:15
= 30km

Then mooched about for three hours - so beautiful - walked along the sea front, Stanley park, had sausage and chips.
Then cycled home (via the beer garden at the Brewhouse, Highfield) 
Left 16:25 arrived in pub garden 18:15
= 35km

Pub was great then home to eat and chill.

Have downloaded a 10week half IM training plan :)

Swimming and Piecarumba

Had a private swimming lessons this morning and was able to call it work! Potential new swim teacher needed to demonstrate her teaching ability so I got to be her Guinea pig 
My back stoke is way better now and my dolphin kick is def a bit better!!

After work in the pool for 35mins
Then Piecarumba with Vik and Alsion.

1st RR10 17/4 @ Victoria Country Park

Just over one lap - did approx 4K in  33.15
Knee felt okay
Then cheered in Lordshill team mates, any Sisters and Tri Club club mates. Top evening. Then Ita and Mike's for food, shower, wine, catch up.

109k clockwise round the IOW

So tired yet also so bloody proud / happy / chuffed with myself. Spent a beautiful day with Lou, Jenny and Sue cycling clockwise round the IOW. Was so hard yet also absolutely fine :)

Except the last 20k of hills and headwind. That's was tough. Nearly started crying. But I didn't. I kept going. Just push/pull. Up those hills, down those hills all the way to West then East Cowes. 

Loved it.
Approx 1800m of climbing.
Wow. They weren't lying about the hills on the Island!

Plus yesterday I was re-voted in as STC's membership sec. 

What a top weekend.

#feeling epic

A really tough HB session - hoorah for Lindsey for encouraging me, peter and jenny through it. 
Then, when i got home i did a 24min brick run. hardly any knee pain. felt very strong.

the southampton half is in about 4 weeks, i don't think i'll be race ready but i will be 'training run/walk' it ready.

Slightly concerned about the IOW

105km on Sunday. 
I am a tad nervous but also excited to see where I am ten weeks out from the Lakesman half.

Will swim tomorrow in my break and continue to add to my gym routine - currently at 15mins so can easily fit it in during my break when at JSC

50k cycle this morning

Eling to Lepe beach and back. 50k. Approx 20kmh. With Sue and Jenny. Loved it.
Carpet of bluebells.
My average is approx 13mph. It needs to be at least 15mph...

Bread and chocolate ice cream. Note to self - don't buy these again.

What a day!!

HB - smashed it. Utterly nailed the last minute. So wanted to stop so many times but didn't. Just kept riding. 

Ran for 15mins
Knee bit sore so iced it when got home.

Work - spent 15mins in the gym.

Now need to sleep. 
The next 8 weeks will be pretty intense xx

What a day!!

24hours ago I was getting hooked up to machines a part of the driving tired / semi automated car research at Bolderwood. Loved it. So tired. I found automated driving very boring!

Maybe 5/5.5 hours sleep.
10am physio Liam - doubled my weights for knee - 30kg and leg press 60kg! But I can gently start running again. Three weeks to build up but reckons the Soton half will be fine but def lakesman half.
Did 10mins on the step machine.

Update Louise about the driving experiment.

Wow. 
Rain was so hard.
Got to Watersports - gate locked. Chucking it down, high tide. Decided to just go home.
While cycling Riverside Park - face started to hurt - blinking HAIL!!!
So happy to get home.

Fell asleep in my chair.
Print room for a cuppa with Muts - so lovely to see her - we haven't seen each other for weeks.

Light bulb exploded when I got home.
HB with Suzanne - smashed it.
Food, Netflix and now bedtime. 

What a day!!!!

Tough HB - knee def feeling better :)

As soon as I woke up this morning I noticed that my left knee felt loads better - it wasn't sore :)

Tough HB - could sense the knee but still not really sore.
Walked to work - can feel knee abit but I reckon the no running and strength exercises are def helping.

Ten weeks to go. Time to ramp up my swimming x

As usual, uncertainly about an injury has left me a bit in limbo with my training.
I need to stop worrying, recognise my bike training is going well. Swimming needs some attention and will know about running on Thursday

And now it's April and 11 weeks to the Lakesman

Did 4.75 hours of jet washing yesterday and then a sprint HB session this morning. Am now very tired, just chilling before shower and off to work. Knee still sore. Will see what Physio Liam thinks on Thursday. He doesn't think I've injured it badly so Mabes this is just residual soreness...

This next couple of months are the key training months - I've laid down the foundations and now it's full steam ahead :)
