Swansea half marathon Sunday 24/6/18

Swansea half marathon - what a fabulous race. It's out and back but you run along the road to the Mumbles then turn round and run back to Swansea all along the boardwalk so seven miles of sea and sand. Quite wonderful. First five miles lovely steady pace 12min miles, plenty of water, plenty of whooping. Met mates at the turn point, bit of chatting, had a cheese sarnie, half a chocolate bar and a little carton of apple juice, took some pics, uploaded to Facebook then headed back to Swansea. Was so lovely to see them. Plus I like to stop and chat when there are kids so they feel a part of the event!!
Run back was fab, ice pops at mile seven, loads of enthusiastic marshals and that wonderful sea view. Feet though started to get sore and legs were getting sore so a lot more walking was involved from about mile 9/10. Also realised I wasn't going to get a PB and go sub 3 hours (did 3:14) so slowed right down and did more chatting and picture taking.
Ooh and they had a proper finishing shoot with signs "200m to go". Well, as most of you know I absolutely love a finishing shoot - arms aloft and much whooping and cheering pretty much from the 200m sign to the finish line/arch. Brilliant brilliant fun!! Hugely recommend - fast (apparently!!) flat (yep) with a never ending sea view x

RR10 Fleming Park 59.58

Love the RR10s :)
Finally managed to get to the Running Sisters one last night.

Approx 4.5 maybe 4.7miles
59.58

Am I ready for Endure? Yes I reckon I am. I'll be taking it very gently - def had more in the tank after the race yesterday. Bit concerned about my niggerly right ankle being a bit sore - will need to keep an eye on that.

And always fab to hang out with my running buddies and say thank you marshal to all the awesome sisters x

Started!! OF&H (50)

5 miles 1:05 with LRR buddies Sue, Sarah and Theresa. Was great to run with the girls as they're all quicker than me so they kept me going.

Not quite as knackered as when I ran with Jenny and Suzanne two days before IM Mallorca 70.3 when they were taking it gently with 6.5min km's. Nearly killed me. In fact Suzanne did ask if I was having an asthma attack!!! Their gentle training run was at least 1.5min a km quicker than my pace. But let's face it, you have to run with quicker buddies if you're going to get quicker :)

Very happy with this evenings run. Great pre Endure24 training run. We now have a bench mark for Lizzie Lou's lap.

Plus I've filled in a box on my OF&H (50) wall chart.
