Rest day

So tired 
Mainly due to the three day NFL draft 

Loved athlete tracking the London marathon today.
Can’t wait for the Southampton half next Sunday -  my goal is to finish feeling fresh 🤗

I need to be kind to myself so I may just go to London for Matt & Tom’s 50th from Ashtead on Saturday and then back to Soton that evening from Waterloo. I’ll need to check luggage / logistics regarding training but that might be kinder on my body / sleep 🤔

Lunch with Nana & hills

It’s the draft so I haven't really slept very much 
Mum’s x2 armchairs have been taken by the council - ready for her scooter 

Lunch with nana - Katie over by noon
Digested food, went to the dump then off for a run 5ish. Hills. It’s so gorgeous in Ashtead.

HB with Sue, 60mins on the stationary bike
Covid booster 
90mins 19km on the knock off Brompton off to check out the Ashtead allotments, up by the old Goblin works, over to Langley Vale and the Downs then back to mums.
Was fabulous 
I cannot cycle on sand - was on the bridal path

It’s day1 of the 2026 draft so it’s been wall to wall NFL since 7pm xx

Fast twitch sprint triathlon

OMG
It was glorious 
Plus I was 6mins faster than last year 
I had absolutely no urgency. 
Loved it

Swim felt so smooth, I could have kept that pace up for hours 
I felt so strong on the bike and was on the tri bars loads
The run was just fun. I did 9mins run / 1 min walk. I felt so fresh at the end of the race. 
Sooooo happy 🤗

Then recovered at the allotment
Then last STC AGM as membership sec (these last 11 years as STC’s membership sec have been  a joy and a privilege)

Plus Andy had a huge tub of high5 carb drink powder - I grabbed it as that’s what’ll be at the Outlaw.

All in all, a top top day x

My sleep isn’t great - I’m wondering if I was over stimulated from the 95k bike ride then seeing Louise and Linda in Winchester last night? 

Anyways, rest day today - nice and chilled 
Bonus big sis Debs Hub visit which was fabulous 

Then supper at the Ali’s

100 days to go!!!

Today has been rather awesome
Needless to say if I didn’t have Suzanne I’d of bailed way before 95km

Kelly joined us for the Lepe loop as she’s doing 90k ride at the end of May
Love her action shots of us cycling 

Suzanne dragged me along 
I used the tri bars loads 
Was easily doing 25-33km per hour which I’ll need to be doing by the Outlaw so I make the swim/bike cutoff of 10hours with time to spare.
Ate well and my tummy is def getting used to digesting more on the go. I do though need to make my trail mix into flapjack for easier eating. 

I am tired
I will sleep well tonight
I had a lovely evening in Winchester eating chicken chow mein with Louise & Linda

No swimming costume at mums!!!

Blast
I could have sworn I had a swimming costume at mums. This morning as I was packing my bag for swimming - no costume 😕

So cancelled my swim and went back to bed for an hour then S&C while chatting to Sue & Jenny.

However, once I get a cossie sorted at mums - early morning swimming at the leisure centre will be so easy.

I got the train to Boxhill and Westhumble and ran through Norbury park to Leatherhead train station then train back to mums

Approx 9km in 1:25
Was quite hilly at the start #SurreyHills 🤣

I need to do this more often so I make sure I don’t bail on the long run x

111 days, 15 weeks - 1st proper long ride

I feel as if Lizzie goes long has properly started.

75k / 3:15 in the new Forest with Suzanne then 2k/15mins brick run straight after 

Both felt good
Although I was thinking at 40k yee gods how am I going to keep going for another 140k at the end of July.
And after the 2k brick run off the bike there was a part of me that thought crikey, only another 40k of running to go and then I’ll be done 🤣

However…
I’ve still got 111 days until I’m racing.
That’s loads of time - 15 weeks
I’ll be fine!!!!

Long cycle with Suzanne tomorrow morning with the long run in the diary for Wednesday.

114 days to go - feeling strong

Fabulous!
Did some stretches in the morning - hub was empty
Then swam at lunchtime - just 550m but good to be in the water. Didn't swim at Oaklands this morning so very pleased to get into the pool even if only for 15mins
Then cycled the long way home. 

Have signed up for the Gridiron in October and a 200k bike ride through the forest in August. Oh and joined the National Trust & English Heritage. 
It was a slow day at work 🤣

I'm def feeling strong xx

First day of my next 4 days at work
Day one of the Easter closure period at work
It was a very chilled day.

My new shift rota will be :
Monday to Friday
8am - 4pm
Hopefully I'll be able to regularly do 12-8pm Wednesdays so Elizabeth is still able to do her regular Wednesday evening with mates and I get a morning for swimming / HB xx

My training peaks is yellow - 74% completion rate. I was doing mental arithmetics trying to figure out if I was at 80% so I'd be Green 🤣 (great top tip Suzanne)

Easter Monday 6/4 I'm going out with Suzanne and hopefully Jenny. I'm hoping to get out for 3.5 hours. It'll be great to see where I am with my bike fitness. Plus I don't think I'd manage 3.5 hours  on my own yet 🤔

118 days to go 5.5k 42mins

No swim 
No S&C 
But I did run - 5.5k // 42mins

I'm next in Ashtead - evening of 6/4 for 3 days. I must do a better job of following my plan. I think 1/4/26 signals my need to 'Eye of Sauron' on my training plan 🤔🤣

118 days will go in a blink of any eye.
Remember - the whole time you were watching the Outlaw 2023 on Shaz's tablet in your hospital bed at RSH - all you were thinking was 'good god it's a fck of a long way' //' I did not do enough training'. 

I cannot make the same mistake again. 
Especially as this time round - I know exactly what to expect. 

Forgot to post on mums bday 29/3/26

Travelled to Ashtead via the Leatherhead Leisure centre gym. It's such a fab gym!

I wonder if I'll have DOMs tomorrow?

122 days to go - am I getting enough protein?

Nadine and Age at the gym laughing at me trying to find x2 dumbbells of 6k or 7k. Ended up with x1 6k & x1 7k 😂

Am I getting enough protein?
I have upped my Greek yoghurt on my berries and overnight oats.
I've started taking nuts and dried fruit to work as a snack
I had a burger for tea at Trego lounge with Silvia.

I need to make sure I'm getting enough. 1.5-2g per protein per kg of body weight. Which means I need approx 100g of protein minimum each day. Will need to work on this

123 days to go - rest day

I havnt really earned this rest day though. No 3hour bike ride yesterday 🤔

I am though enjoying cycling to work by adding extra time. The commute usually takes 20mins. Today it took 39mins. These cheeky extra minutes / hours will help. Which is a relief. 
But I do have to get in those 2-5hour bike rides every week. An Ironman is an endurance event. I've got to train so my body will be able to keep going for 15+ hours!!

Great physio / massage apt 
So useful to be able to point out niggles and the Max know where the niggle originated so able to treat the cause (and not the symptom) 😂 Rocky Horror moment there 

Anyways

3 hour bike ride on newly serviced bike 
Managed 31mins to and from the Cowherds for dinner with K,S,V&Abel. 
This will become an issue 
I have to figure out how I can support mum in Ashtead while also training for the Outlaw 🤔

Today I did 5 minutes on the stationary bike 
How do I make sure I do the training when in Ashtead? 

Late lunch with Claire, Phil, Anna, Amanda, Stuart and Becky - celebrating Paul's memory. It was lovely. 

When I was training myself for the Outlaw back in 2023 my big issue was not doing enough. I cannot let that happen again.

Hmmmm

I'm going to have to stop socialising / figure out how I can make sure I'm training enough.

Day 4/4
Did a lot of tidying / sorting this morning so didn't manage S&C either at home or at the gym.

Then drove to Ashtead via a Deb's pick up in Epsom so didn't manage anything after work. 

The sunset though was amazing when I went to get mums car from Winn road 🥰

Yesterday was okay
- S&C in the gym before work
- Run after work

I took my sports bra to work, left my Hub top in my draw and then ran to mum's car, ran up and down Winn Road before driving back to my flat.

This worked so well.
I will def do this again.

130 days to go - bike ride after work

Slept well last night.
It helped that I was in bed by 10pm.
Decided to go to the gym before work and then go out for a bike ride as soon as I got in from work around 8:20pm

That worked so well!
I listened to NFL podcasts while I cycled around the city centre.


Plus check out the fast twitch race pack 🤣
I didn't notice it was me until jenny emailed to let me know. 
Hilarious.

I also cannot wait to do the race next month. I'm so excited to see how I do.
