Lizzy massage - clean bill of health

4 weeks yesterday was the Outlaw
I’m still blown away with my recovery
Had another monjaro GI distress moment but again, I’d eaten too much / too much crap.

Anyways

Lizzy massage
Body in great shape.
Muscles all lose. Only tightness in my calves which were tight before the event.

The Outlaw is over.
That chapter has been written
Just need to finish the race report and update the just giving page.

Recovery & the Mounjaro injection

Oops

A very dodgy tummy and very little sleep last night

I was quite full yesterday when I had a light supper. That was a mistake. I’d obviously eaten enough for someone on the mounjaro injection, but maybe not for someone who’d completed an Ironman distance triathlon a fortnight ago.

A very dodgy tummy, up every 40-60mins throughout the night. I honestly thought ooh this must be what it’s like with a new born baby and trying to sleep 😂

I’ll take it gently today
I’ll wait to take the next injection. I think I’ll wait another 2 weeks to allow my body to have had enough of whatever food stuff it feels it needs to help me fully recover.

I am annoyed, as this has put my recovery back by a good few days. But it’s all new. I’ve never done an Ironman distance triathlon. I am still in recovery from The Outlaw. I just need to manage this set back and then move forward 🥰🥳

Outlaw Recovery Day 10

So?
How am I doing??

I'm actually feeling remarkably chipper.
I noticed this during the event and right after it.
I'm tired but I've been able to walk without any pain the entire time.

Unlike after the Great South Run in 2011 when i couldn't walk at all, or after the Brighton Half in 2012 when i had to walk down any stairs / steps backwards!
  • I had a swim Tuesday (recovery day 2) 700m 21 mins
  • I did the inaugural Brew42 5k run in Ashtead on Saturday (recovery day 6) in 38:29
  • Then Park Yoga on Sunday (recovery day 7)
  • Plus I've cycled most days 10-20mins at a time getting from A-B
  • And watered the allotment yesterday (recovery day 9)

  • Deep heat, arnica, ice packs and tea have all been used
  • I have eaten so much i have put on 2kg
  • I am still very tired.

But other than that - I'm utterly delighted with how my recovery has been going

£1400 raised for Sibs
Just the Ashtead 10k in the diary for Sunday 13th Sept

I do have some goals :
  1. Sub 30min 5k
  2. Sub 60min 10k

Plus I do need to write my race report xx
