111 days, 15 weeks - 1st proper long ride

I feel as if Lizzie goes long has properly started.

75k / 3:15 in the new Forest with Suzanne then 2k/15mins brick run straight after 

Both felt good
Although I was thinking at 40k yee gods how am I going to keep going for another 140k at the end of July.
And after the 2k brick run off the bike there was a part of me that thought crikey, only another 40k of running to go and then I’ll be done 🤣

However…
I’ve still got 111 days until I’m racing.
That’s loads of time - 15 weeks
I’ll be fine!!!!

No run this evening

I was hungry when I finished work so made supper instead of running as soon as I got home from work.

Long cycle with Suzanne tomorrow morning with the long run in the diary for Wednesday. 
Just got to make sure I do them.

114 days to go - feeling strong

Fabulous!
Did some stretches in the morning - hub was empty
Then swam at lunchtime - just 550m but good to be in the water. Didn't swim at Oaklands this morning so very pleased to get into the pool even if only for 15mins
Then cycled the long way home. 

Have signed up for the Gridiron in October and a 200k bike ride through the forest in August. Oh and joined the National Trust & English Heritage. 
It was a slow day at work 🤣

I'm def feeling strong xx

115 days to go - rest day

And relax 
First day of my next 4 days at work
Day one of the Easter closure period at work
It was a very chilled day.

My new shift rota will be :
Monday to Friday
8am - 4pm
Hopefully I'll be able to regularly do 12-8pm Wednesdays so Elizabeth is still able to do her regular Wednesday evening with mates and I get a morning for swimming / HB xx

116 days to go - managed a long(ish) bike ride

1:45 is not quite 2:22
My training peaks is yellow - 74% completion rate. I was doing mental arithmetics trying to figure out if I was at 80% so I'd be Green 🤣 (great top tip Suzanne)

Easter Monday 6/4 I'm going out with Suzanne and hopefully Jenny. I'm hoping to get out for 3.5 hours. It'll be great to see where I am with my bike fitness. Plus I don't think I'd manage 3.5 hours  on my own yet 🤔

118 days to go 5.5k 42mins

No swim 
No S&C 
But I did run - 5.5k // 42mins

I'm next in Ashtead - evening of 6/4 for 3 days. I must do a better job of following my plan. I think 1/4/26 signals my need to 'Eye of Sauron' on my training plan 🤔🤣

118 days will go in a blink of any eye.
Remember - the whole time you were watching the Outlaw 2023 on Shaz's tablet in your hospital bed at RSH - all you were thinking was 'good god it's a fck of a long way' //' I did not do enough training'. 

I cannot make the same mistake again. 
Especially as this time round - I know exactly what to expect. 

Forgot to post on mums bday 29/3/26

Travelled to Ashtead via the Leatherhead Leisure centre gym. It's such a fab gym!

I wonder if I'll have DOMs tomorrow?

BBQ lamb at the Peacocks 
So much food.

I didn't go for a run
So tired
And then spent the evening watching Disney and HBO max.
At least I managed 20mins if the stationary bike

8am-8pm day 3 of 4 at work
Physio stretches during my evening break
Cycled home and then went straight out for a hill rep session up and down the Itchen bridge

122 days to go - am I getting enough protein?

Nadine and Age at the gym laughing at me trying to find x2 dumbbells of 6k or 7k. Ended up with x1 6k & x1 7k 😂

Am I getting enough protein?
I have upped my Greek yoghurt on my berries and overnight oats.
I've started taking nuts and dried fruit to work as a snack
I had a burger for tea at Trego lounge with Silvia.

I need to make sure I'm getting enough. 1.5-2g per protein per kg of body weight. Which means I need approx 100g of protein minimum each day. Will need to work on this

123 days to go - rest day

I havnt really earned this rest day though. No 3hour bike ride yesterday 🤔

I am though enjoying cycling to work by adding extra time. The commute usually takes 20mins. Today it took 39mins. These cheeky extra minutes / hours will help. Which is a relief. 
But I do have to get in those 2-5hour bike rides every week. An Ironman is an endurance event. I've got to train so my body will be able to keep going for 15+ hours!!

124 days to go - physio & Cowherds back in Soton.

Great physio / massage apt 
So useful to be able to point out niggles and the Max know where the niggle originated so able to treat the cause (and not the symptom) 😂 Rocky Horror moment there 

Anyways

3 hour bike ride on newly serviced bike 
Managed 31mins to and from the Cowherds for dinner with K,S,V&Abel. 
This will become an issue 
I have to figure out how I can support mum in Ashtead while also training for the Outlaw 🤔

126 days till the outlaw - lunch at The Taz

Today I did 5 minutes on the stationary bike 
How do I make sure I do the training when in Ashtead? 

Late lunch with Claire, Phil, Anna, Amanda, Stuart and Becky - celebrating Paul's memory. It was lovely. 

When I was training myself for the Outlaw back in 2023 my big issue was not doing enough. I cannot let that happen again.

128 days to go - just work and driving

Hmmmm

I'm going to have to stop socialising / figure out how I can make sure I'm training enough.

Day 4/4
Did a lot of tidying / sorting this morning so didn't manage S&C either at home or at the gym.

Then drove to Ashtead via a Deb's pick up in Epsom so didn't manage anything after work. 

The sunset though was amazing when I went to get mums car from Winn road 🥰

When you decide you're going to post an update everyday and then forget  :( 

Yesterday was okay
- S&C in the gym before work
- Run after work

I took my sports bra to work, left my Hub top in my draw and then ran to mum's car, ran up and down Winn Road before driving back to my flat.

This worked so well.
I will def do this again.

130 days to go - bike ride after work

Slept well last night.
It helped that I was in bed by 10pm.
Decided to go to the gym before work and then go out for a bike ride as soon as I got in from work around 8:20pm

That worked so well!
I listened to NFL podcasts while I cycled around the city centre.


Plus check out the fast twitch race pack 🤣
I didn't notice it was me until jenny emailed to let me know. 
Hilarious.

I also cannot wait to do the race next month. I'm so excited to see how I do.

131 days to go - rest day - DOMS

So tired!!
My shoulders have been killing me all day 
Took me till this evening to realise they're DOMS from Sunday's gym class 🤣 I did very forceful throwing down of the medicine ball. It was wonderful but crikey I gave it some welly xx

At CLS I did dry land swim session and one of the dry land swim exercises was slamming down the medicine ball from over head to get that strong feeling of the pull. Or maybe the catch 🤔 
Anyways, was very satisfying and I did feel as if I was powering through the water 🥳

132 days to go - bike ride / cuppa / flat tire

Everything was going great.
I was loving my cycling around Ashtead and into Leatherhead exploring roads I hadn't biked along for years / if ever.
Messaged Phil for a cuppa if she was in. 
She was, we had a lovely cuppa catch up.
Then I headed back to mums.

You know when you start loosing control of the bike and you just know it's because the tire is probably flat but you really don't want to stop because then you'll be able to feel the tire, know it's flat and because no pump have to walk the rest of the way home…

Yep, that was me along the A24 by West Ashtead school. 

18minutes later I'm home. 
Siiiiiigh.

133 days to go - gym circuit session with debs

Today was lovely 
I've joined Leatherhead leisure centre so I can swim, use the gym, do classes when up at mums. 
Big sister debs, me and her mate from work did a 30min gym circuit session. I loved it. 10 stations, 45secs/15rest/45secs each station then 15secs to move to the next one. 

Then afternoon tea, Josie dog ate a luxury hot cross bun (she's fine thanks to emergency vet) and then chilling watching tv.

Tri club swimming - loved it. I must remember how  good I always feel after the session.

Allotment with Muts
Dug the 2nd bean trench - great work out 

Lunch / afternoon tea with Emi in Portswood

Cycled home - gardening and some sorting 

7pm -A Night  at the Opera - Soton Philharmonic Choir - Vik and Alec

Walked home and then lots of YouTube classical music starting with the 3 tenors!!

Very tired 
Must go to bed
I think 134 is enough time to be able to swim 3.8km in 1:45, cycle 180km in under 7hours and then run a marathon in under 6 hours. I'd love a time that starts with 15 xx

Back on it

My compensation money has gone through.
My accident has been put to bed.
I'm now able to fully focus on the Outlaw


I have been remiss at updating my blog.
I have missed sessions from coach Emma.

We're now 19 weeks away from the Outlaw 
I'd like to finish in a time of 15 something.
